Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibit

SCCCHE field trip = lots of fun. :)

Our tour guide was dressed in Renaissance attire.

Leonardo da Vinci was the first person known to have the idea of a robot!

Large group, right?

Replicas of da Vinci's artwork

Looking through the peephole in the mirror box

The peephole was quite small for the camera lens, not to mention the fact that... *cough cough* certain people kept putting their hands over the hole and blocking the camera, so looking down from the top worked quite well. :D

Inside the mirror box...

Knut and friends building a bridge by Da Vinci's design

Rosemary fell asleep during a short video. :)

The finished bridge

I had no idea that Leonardo Da Vinci had been the originator of so many ideas! He's credited for airplanes, helicopters, diving gear, armored tanks, robots, life preservers, paddle boats, flywheels, interchangeable parts, springs, and so many more! This was definitely an interesting exhibit. Only problem is, I got behind on my schoolwork so I'll have to make it up this weekend.

Bright Lights was tonight, so since the Swogger girls went on the field trip as well, they took me home with them until Bright Lights. ;) Lots of fun. :D

And I'm back to the blogging world.

I haven't been taking many pictures, but I'll give a quick written overview of our life lately:

Everyone has been very sympathetic and kind; we've had several meals, tons and tons of prayer, and emails/calls asking how we're doing. It's been hard, but we're doing well. :)

The Thursday SCCCHE meeting was a lot of fun! It was a chili cookoff and family game night, and Knut and his FLL team also did some robot runs for people to watch. We hadn't expected a lot of people to come, but the gym was full even though it was a snowy night and the roads were rather treacherous.

On Saturday, the FTC team (First Tech Challenge) in the homeschool group had a competition, and they invited Knut's FLL team to come and have a table set up to tell people about First Lego League. So they brought their table to have robot runs as well as their display. Grandpa and Grandma and I went as well.

Also on Saturday, Cecily and I had a sleepover with Kalei and Shelby Swogger. :) Lots and lots of fun! :)

Yesterday, Sunday, we had church in the morning, went to the zoo in the afternoon (and had a snowball fight in which Papa lost... badly), and watched Aristocats in the evening.

Today, school. :P

We named him Enoch.

By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. (Hebrews 11:5) [NIV]

It fits. :)

Miscarriage

Yes. Mom had a miscarriage today. Peterson baby number eight, a boy, is in heaven right now. Prayers would be appreciated for the whole family, Mom especially.

Obviously I'm not going to be posting for awhile... at least I got most of it done already. :P
