While Grandpa and Grandma were here, we meant to get the deck built... unfortunately, that didn't happen, but they did get the holes for the poles dug, which is definitely no small accomplishment!
We went to Eckerts' on Sunday afternoon to get peaches. We go there just about every year to ride on the wagons out to the orchard and pick our own... it's really fun! But when we got there, we found out that 'pick-your-own' doesn't start until next Saturday. However, there were free wagon rides and peaches for sale in the store! Just before we got on the wagon, the tractor driver explained that he was leading another guy in a pickup truck out to dispose of some compost, so the wagon would be going quite a bit farther than usual, and so the ride would take longer. We were fine with that, so we and another family got on the wagon. After the pickup truck had turned off to dump the compost, the wagon continued on around the loop to get back to the starting point, but then we ran into a small lake. It's been raining so much that the 'road' was flooded... and since the road was mud anyway, there was a very strong likelihood that we would get stuck. :) So- the driver had to back up the whole until he could turn around and drive us back the way we came!
Once we were almost back to the store, Cecily's hat blew off! We shouted and tried to get the attention of the driver, but the tractor was so loud that he couldn't hear us. So Papa jumped off the wagon and ran back to get the hat! He was almost back on by the time we got the driver to hear us and stop the wagon.
Knut went shoe shopping with Grandpa. His old shoes are... pretty dead. :)
Mom went yardsaling on Saturday and bought this adorable little dustmop for Rosemary. As a result she has been 'helping' with cleanup quite a bit! Bjorn likes it, too. :)
why would you need such huge holes for the deck? Wow!
